Meet our Team!

All in a day's work. A little information on the Creative Team Memebers.

The Creative Team

April Hilton, Owner

April's Dawn Creations owner, specializing in quilts and other fabric crafts.

April is the owner and operator of April's Dawn Creations. Besides being a mother to a Great 19 year old, and a wife for more than 20 years, she is currently a student for an Associates of Applied Science in Business, and the owner of this creative business.
"I love to create quilts" Quilts are an heirloom for a family. They both combine a style and heritage but, also enable someone to add that personal preference of color, and pattern to the project. My favorite thing to do is to deliver a finished quilt to a customer and see the look on their face upon seeing a product that they designed themselves. While I have made it for them, it seems a joint effort takes place in the design. Thus, making a family heirloom for years to come. It is wonderful to know that you have created such a thing for your own family.

Betty Plank (aka Nana)

Betty is the mother of April and Jacquelen. Besides being a wonderful mother and grandmother, she also has well earned the title of queen of creation and teaching. Betty is likely the hardest worker as well.

She has a unique talent and ability to create things, and teach us how to go about making those things. While each of us add a unique touch to this business, she is singled out as a problem solver and incredibly talented artist. Committed to family and to making each product the upmost quality, she teaches each of the team members every time we are around her. Many of the great lines we have are her ideas or her improvements. All of the rag dolls are her line, many of the hats are her line, and the apron designs are inspired by her. She is a valuble asset to this business. She is the person we go to when we need help resolving making a product look like what we have invisioned it looking like. She is indeed the master mind.

Look for Nana's rag dolls in my shop and many other of her products.

Opal Plank (aka Granny)

Opal Plank was born into the Great Depression, and has more than 52 people in her immediate family. Grandmother to April and Jacquelen, and Mother in Law to Betty, Granny is a solid rock foundation to this business. Having such an eye for color coordination and ideas for new product improvements, she is invaluable. Her commitment to family and friends presents a unique and caring perspective to each product we make. She makes us all strive to become better not just at this business but, at life in general.
Her crotchet is unmatched by anyone I've seen. The skill and craftsmanship in her products shows a great quality and caring, just as is her personality.

Look for Granny's products in the shop.

Jaquelen Bush

Jacquelen is the youngest of our team. Besides being a mother to two wonderful children (sister to April) she is a great addition to our creative side. Not only does she give us great ideas but, she is also a creative artist. Many of the crochet items are her line, as well as the stuffed animals and embroidered items we offer. When a challenge presents itself she is generally the first to address it and offer solutions that we all value deeply and most often follow. She is a great asset to this team and business.

Look for Jacquelen's items in the shop.
